Cancellation Insurance

In accordance with the UTMB World Series Event regulations, race bibs are neither refundable nor transferable to another person (unless otherwise stated, check the race rules page), event, or future edition. To help you plan for any unforeseen circumstances, we offer the services of our partner Xplorassur, which specializes in cancellation insurance for sporting events.

How to request a refund?

If you subscribed to the insurance offered by our partner Xplorassur during your registration, you may be eligible for a refund (please refer to the general terms and conditions).

To submit your request, please access to your dashboard via your MyUTMB account and click on “declare a cancellation claim”.

If you no longer have access to your dashboard, please go on Xplorassur.com and make your claim (you will be asked for your subscription number and the email you used when registering). More details on submitting your request here.

Make sure to provide all required information, including the necessary documents for processing your claim and your bank details. Without these, your request may remain pending. Feel free to check the insurer FAQ as well — the answer to your question may already be there.

Please note that If you have NOT taken out registration cancellation insurance, no refund will be possible. To cancel your registration, access your registration dashboard and click on the "Cancel my registration" button.

Rescue insurance

Search and rescue operations can be complex and costly, particularly in remote or difficult-to-reach locations.

Whether it involves airlifting a participant from a dangerous area or mobilizing emergency teams for a rescue mission, the expenses can quickly add up.

Evacuation, which may involve transportation to the nearest medical facility or safe location, can also incur substantial costs.

Therefore, it is mandatory for all participants to have an insurance policy that explicitly covers these types of situations. Without adequate coverage, the participant may be personally responsible for any emergency costs, which could be financially devastating.

Participants are advised to verify that their insurance policy meets these requirements before the event and ensure that it provides comprehensive coverage for search, rescue, and evacuation.
