A joëlette challenge on Wildstrubel by UTMB
In collaboration with the Sport Handicap Sierre association, three people with disabilities will take part in the Wild 25 race in a ‘Joëlette'. The Joëlette is a single-wheel all-terrain wheelchair that allows anyone with reduced mobility, child or adult, even very heavily dependent, to go hiking with the help of 'able-bodied' accompanying athletes.
The guides will have the challenge of taking turns to cover approximately 25km with 1'150m of elevation gain by pulling and pushing the Joëlette from the bottom of the Varone pasture to Crans-Montana. The challenge will take place next Sunday, September 21 at the same time as the Wild 25 race (Loèche-les-Bains - Crans-Montana). The Joëlette will be at the heart of the race and will aim to reach the same finish as the runners.
